Shawn Meade, CPA, MS, CFP®
Partner
While at Ernst &
Young, Shawn obtained his Certified
Public Accountant certification in
1997 and then left the firm in 1998
to pursue a job at a public company
in Atlanta. This position ended up
being short-lived and
non-fulfilling. This experience
taught Shawn that he wanted to deal
with individuals, not companies.
More importantly, he realized that
he wanted his work to make a
difference in people's lives,
something that his previous jobs had
never allowed.
Always having an interest in
personal finance, Shawn enrolled at
Georgia State in 1999 to pursue his
Masters Degree in Personal Financial
Planning. While in school pursuing
his degree, Shawn returned to Ernst
& Young and worked in the Health
Science Advisory practice supporting
the Atlanta practice group. He
graduated from Georgia State in
December 2001. In 2002, he became a
Certified Financial Planner®.
Shawn joined Niagara
Financial Advisors, LLC in
Alpharetta, Georgia in 2002 on a
part-time basis while still working
at Ernst & Young. Shawn eventually
left Ernst & Young in 2003 and
started to devote himself full-time
to growing his financial planning
practice and helping Niagara
Financial Advisors, LLC blossom into
a full-fledged financial planning
firm. Shawn became a full Partner
in the firm in 2004 and continues to
grow his practice.
Born and raised in Ohio, Shawn
graduated from The Ohio State
University in 1994 with a Bachelors
Degree in Accounting. Upon
graduation and marrying his
high-school sweetheart in that same
year, Shawn left Columbus to
relocate here to Atlanta. He
currently resides with his wife
Nicole and young sons Ryan and Kevin
in Canton, Georgia.
Outside of the
office, Shawn is a rabid college
football fan (especially for Ohio
State), loves to travel and spend
time with his family here in
Atlanta. Shawn founded and
currently serves as a Board Member
for the Georgia State Personal
Financial Planning Alumni Club,
serves on the Atlanta Chapter of the
Ernst & Young Alumni advisory
council, is actively involved in the
Financial Planning Association and
presents Junior Achievement to high
school seniors at Milton High School
in North Fulton County.
